gifted children / schools
"Only someone who feels strengthened and supported emotionally, is able to reveal his talents."
A assessment shows the academic profile and the child's specific talents.
Advice on questions and concerns regarding gifted children or adolescents is available to both family and professionals engaged with such children. I am very happy to assist and provide a framework to facilitate their positive, personal development. While assessment tests can serve as a basis for further advice, they are not a pre-requisite for a consultation.
procedure of an assessment
Pre-consultation with parents
The queries and concerns of the parents are discussed.
Additionally, it is important to gain an understanding of your child’s background, school history and their development so far.
Assessment with the child/adolescent
Depending on the age and issue the child is dealing with, appropriate assessment tests may be selected. Generally this can take between 2-4 hours and is divided over 2 meetings.
Final Consultation
I will present my findings related to questions and concerns you have raised and share the results of the entire assessment. I will provide concrete proposals to establish a way forward for your child.
General school concerns
The most common concerns I address are school performance issues, motivation problems, uncertainties concerning the transfer from primary to senior high school / high school, exam stress, learning blocks, reading and writing, calculating, homework stress, work pressure, and time management.
I also offer coaching for students to optimise their learning and provide learning strategies and planning.
A thorough assessment of the childs general devlopement
The detailed and wide-ranging tests assess the child’s /adolescent’s intellectual potential, their social and emotional state / development, linguistic and writing development, frustration tolerance, concentration, perseverance, ambition, motivation, learning strategies and interests. Your child's unique strengths and development potentials are identified.
